Peppermint Fudge

1 1/2 bags chocolate chips
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp peppermint extract
3 crushed candy canes (optional)

Combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a medium sauce pan. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until mixture is melted. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract and crushed candy canes. Spread in a greased 9 by 9 square pan and refrigerate for 4 hours until set. Cut into 1 inch squares and serve. Store covered in the refrigerator.
