Toasted Ham Subs

4 whole wheat sub rolls
12 oz sliced brown sugar deli ham
4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
4 Tbl ranch dressing
1 thinly sliced roma tomato
1 thinly sliced avocado
1 roasted red bell pepper, chopped
2 tsp Italian seasoning

Preheat the broiler and place the rack on the top-most setting. Slice the sub rolls in half and lay on a baking sheet. Put 1 Tbl ranch dressing on one side of each roll, then sprinkle with 1 oz cheddar cheese and 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning. On the other side of the roll, layer ham, tomatoes, and roasted red bell peppers. Place the sandwiches under the broiler for 1-2 minutes (watch carefully) until the edges of the bread are brown and the cheese is melted. Add the avocado and put sandwiches together to serve.
