Vanilla Buttermilk Ice Cream

1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups heavy whipping cream

In a blender, blend buttermilk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute.  Stir in the whipping cream, pour into your ice cream machine and churn 25-30 minutes until it reaches soft-serve consistency.  Scoop into an airtight container and freeze 2 hours before serving.
