1 tablespoon butter
1/2 onion, diced Salt and pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (28 oz) can Bush's original baked beans
1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained
1 (15 oz) can cannelini beans, drained
1/2 can rotel original tomatoes and green chiles
4 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
Heat oven to 350 and grease a 9 by 13 baking dish.
In a skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and a pinch of salt and pepper. Saute until golden browned and softened.
Add sauteed onions to a large bowl. Add all remaining ingredients except for the bacon and stir together. Spread in a large baking dish and shingle the bacon pieces over the top.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Let cool 15 minutes before serving.
