Spaghetti Sauce

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes 
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend 
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

Open tomatoes and have them ready by the stove. 

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and Italian seasoning and cook, stirring constantly, until the garlic is very fragrant and deeply toasted. Immediately pour in the tomatoes and stir well. Add the salt and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring frequently, for 15 minutes. Serve over cooked spaghetti.
