Apple Cream Pie

1 unbaked pie shell
6 tart baking apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch salt
1 cup whipping cream

Heat the oven to 400. Line pie tin with pie dough. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Toss with the lemon juice and pile into the pie pan. Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together and spread evenly over the apples. Drizzle the cream evenly all over the top.

Place pie on a baking sheet to prevent drips, and bake on the lower middle rack at 400 for 10 minutes, then reduce the oven to 350 and bake for 50 minutes longer.

Let cool completely, then chill for at least 1 hour in the fridge before serving.
